Deleo is the new indie-rock duo of the Montpellier scene. Has a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, Later, and a young talented singer, currently a student at the Sète Conservatory, Eléonore.

From the meeting of these two passionate Anglo-Saxon musicians was born the evidence of an artistic fusion. Evidence confirmed listening to their first titles and their passages noticed on stage. These two are made to get along, and we, to listen to them. Eleanor’s aerial voice vibrates with sensuality on Del’s delicate guitars. He has kept his adolescent passions for the pillars of the new wave that are The Cure, U2 or Depeche Mode, the taste of dark melodies spiced with impulses pop rock formidable effective.

Over the years, his compositions have been enriched with eclectic and electric influences: PJ Harvey, Archive, Mogwai, Placebo, Foals, Starsailor and many others …

But it is especially in the music of Radiohead that Deleo draws his inventiveness. Thom Yorke’s pieces are not only their source of inspiration. They are their breathing. A way of life, to play with the sounds of the purest and most fragile emotions. The most agile too.

Listening to “Cosmic”, Deleo‘s first single, we are immediately seized by the grace of acoustic arpeggios evolving little by little towards nerve electric guitars, while Eléonore’s initial whisper unfolds in a song powerful, bright and desperate. His tessitura evokes that of Dolores O’Riordan Cranberries. This pop lyricism, able to bring out what lies dormant in the depths of us as if by magic, is the imprint of the Deleo style.

This melancholy duo offers us panoramic creative sounds of imaginary landscapes as vast as they are subtle. All performed in Deleo‘s personal laboratory, a demanding and prolific group.

An EP of five titles chiseled and resolutely radiophonic will see the day soon.
One of the most promising musical discoveries of the moment.
